A celebration of life for Mr. Travis Miller will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 2:30 PM at Collins Funeral Home, 714 W. Dekalb Street, Camden, South Carolina, 29020. Travis O'Brian Miller, a beloved father, son, brother, and friend, left us on Saturday, July 19th, 2025, at the age of 49. Born on Thursday, October 23rd, 1975, in Columbia, South Carolina, Travis was a vibrant soul whose love for life touched everyone around him.
Travis was the proud father of his cherished daughter, Khalilah I. Cohen, whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by his father, Robert Miller, Sr.; sister, Robbie Huntley, and her husband, Dale; brother, Corey Miller; the mother of his daughter, LaKeysha Cohen and her son, Davon A. Cohen; aunt, Brenda Tisdale; dear friend Sheena Brown; along with many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who will continue to carry his spirit in their hearts.
Travis attended Richland Two Schools, including Richland Northeast High School, where he was a proud member of the football team. After earning his high school diploma, Travis went on to build a career as a certified nursing assistant before eventually working as a Laundry Service Specialist at Fort Jackson.
Known for his open mind and positive outlook, Travis enjoyed traveling and connecting with people from all walks of life. He often quipped, "I am great at giving advice, too bad I can't take my own advice," highlighting his sense of humor and humility. As an avid reader, he admired thought-provoking works, such as "The Art of War," and writings by Malcolm X and W.E.B. Du Bois.
A lifelong football enthusiast, Travis's team allegiance shifted over the years from the Giants to the Bills to the Steelers and finally the Raiders, but his passion for the sport never waned. His analytical mind provided a unique perspective when discussing football.
One of his pastimes included playing the guitar, showcasing his talent and creativity. Travis will be remembered for his humor, his gifts, and most importantly, for the enormous love he had for his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sheldia Houston Miller, and his brothers, Robert Lewis Miller, Jr., and Jermaine Miller.
A Celebration of Life honoring Travis will be held at Collins Funeral Home, Inc., in Camden, South Carolina, on Thursday, July 31st, 2025, at 2:30 pm. Friends and family are invited to gather to remember a remarkable man who brought joy to so many lives.
