Mr. Thomas James, Jr., affectionately known as “Skeeter”,
entered into eternal life in Manhattan, New York on Monday,
March 2, 2026. Born February 11, 1943, in Camden, South
Carolina, he was a son of the late Mrs. Janie Thomas James and
the late Mr. Thomas James, Sr.

He received his religious training at Wesley Chapel United
Methodist Church in Camden, South Carolina. Thomas was a
graduate of Jackson High School.

While in high school, during the summers, he enjoyed traveling
to Rhode Island to work in the hotel industry as a doorman with
“Daddy Mac”, his English teacher. After high school, Thomas
enlisted in the United States Army. He helped maintain the
security of our Nation during a critical time in its history with a
devotion to duty and a spirit of sacrifice in keeping with the
proud tradition of the military while serving his Country
honorably.

Ending his time of service, he relocated to Bronx, New York. He
found his high school sweetheart to marry, Ms. Doris Hunt. To
this union, they have a daughter and three grandchildren.

He was employed at Wells Fargo Bank in New York City.

Skeeter loved to dance, sing and was a neat dresser. He never
met a stranger, just a happy go lucky person.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers,
Mr. Jessie James and Mr. Frankie Lee James.
