Susan Annette Murphy

On June 5, 2025, Susan Annette Murphy was called home to be with our Lord and Savior, after a heroic fight due to an unexpected illness. Ms. Murphy, born in Norwich Connecticut to the late Geraldine Murphy Ramsey was the granddaughter of Josephine Murphy (Deceased 1976, Lugoff, SC) Ms. Murphy was an enigma who was fierce yet sweet, sensitive yet strong, vulnerable yet never weak, her loyalty to her family and friends never wavered. She embraced strengths and bonds that she cultivated throughout her life leaving behind a legacy filled with fond and happy memories for her family and friends. Ms. Murphy called several places home including Norwich, Connecticut; Oakdale, Connecticut; New London, Connecticut; and Newport, Rhode Island; before settling down in Marion, Ohio. She attended the God’s Way Ministries International and King Temple Apostolic Church. Susan was a beloved daughter, sister, niece, aunty, great aunt, cousin, and friend. She was preceded in death by her sister Gail Murphy (1998). She leaves behind her siblings Janice Pickens of Marion, OH, Tina (Steven) Phillips of Jacksonville, FL, James (Anne) Ramsey Jr of Birmingham, AL, and Josephine (Onyx) Ramsey of Jacksonville FL/San Jose, CA. her beloved Aunts, Willie-Mae Daugherty (Daniel) and Barbara-Anne Murphy of Ridgeway, SC, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins, and Willard Pickens Sr.
