Ryan Duane Swank

September 21, 1959 — July 25, 2022

Ryan Swank, son of Rex and Delores Swank, was born September 21, 1959, in Battle Creek, Michigan. He entered into eternal rest on July 25, 2022, in Camden, South Carolina.

Ryan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Western Michigan University. He worked for a number of years in Battle Creek, Michigan as a psychiatric nurse before he retired from the VA Medical Center in Battle Creek. Ryan decided to move to Camden, South Carolina after his retirement and went to work at Kershaw Medical Center, now MUSC Kershaw Health.

Ryan enjoyed family and friends. He loved to ride motorcycles and repair them. Ryan also had a love for music. He self-taught himself how to play the guitar.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Delores Swank.

Those who remain to cherish his life memories include his father and step-mother, Rex and Ann Swank of Battle Creek, Michigan; his four children, Audrey (Ryan) Andrews of Dowling, Michigan, Bethany Fernandes of Bozwman, Montana, Andrea (Brett) Merritt of Oakwood, Georgia and Ryan Swank of Kalamazoo, Michigan; three siblings, Rhonda Schumacher of Battle Creek, Michigan, Rex Dean Swank of Olivet, Michigan, and Joshua Bard of Battle Creek, Michigan; six grandchildren; one great- grandchild; best friend, Joseph Wright; a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
