Rosa Bell Stradford, of Camden, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on September 12, 1953, in Camden, Rosa touched countless lives through her unwavering dedication to her family, her community, and her life’s work.
A proud graduate of Camden schools, Rosa devoted her professional career to social work, where she exemplified compassion, empathy, and service. She was a tireless advocate for individuals and families in need of support and guidance. Her work in Jersey City, New Jersey, left a lasting impact and reflected her deep commitment to helping others.
Rosa was a faithful member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, where she found joy in fellowship, worship, and service. Her faith served as the foundation of her life and guided her caring and gracious spirit.
Rosa enjoyed watching television westerns, The View, and Let’s Make a Deal. She was also an enthusiastic supporter of Dawn Staley and the South Carolina Gamecocks women's basketball. Known for her organization and attention to detail, Rosa was an excellent note taker and always kept things in order.
She is lovingly survived by her siblings: Marjorie A. Cameron of Elgin, South Carolina; Leroy Stradford of Southfield, Michigan; Ruby Stradford Johnson of Beaufort, South Carolina; and Rev. Ted L. (Patricia) Stradford of Ellenwood, Georgia. She also leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends who cherished her deeply.
Rosa was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her siblings, Thomas Stradford and Mae Frances Stradford. Her kind spirit, strength, and loving presence will forever live on in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved her.
