Mary Jane Stover, a child of the late Eddie Stover Sr and Cornelia Loynes Stover, was born on May 21, 1935, in Camden, South Carolina. She entered into eternal rest on February 23, 2026, in Columbia, South Carolina.
Mary was raised up in White Oak Baptist Church and completed her high school education at Jackson High School. Mary met and married her late husband Brodies Stover and they decided to move their church membership to St. John Baptist Church. The couple were married for 65 years until Deacon Stover was called home November of 2020.
Mary was a faithful member of her church where she served in many roles including Sunday School teacher as well as the “Missionary, Ministers, Deacon, and Trustees wives”. Her favorite hobby was watching the game show network. Mary was employed at B. F. Goodrich, and Markette. She also spent time working at Baron Dekalb Elementary as a volunteer.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Brodies Stover Sr; three children, Brodies Stover Jr, Barbara S. Jones, and Marcus Stover; one granddaughter, Chrissy; three brothers, Henry Stover, Jimmy Stover, and Eddie Stover Jr; one sister, Sallie S. Turner.
Mary is survived by her children, Ronald Stover, Rosemary Stover of Camden, South Carolina, and Linda Stover of Blythewood, South Carolina; 10 grandchildren, Jacqueline Stover of Tampa, Florida, Marsell Stover of Germany, Celestia Jones of Camden, South Carolina, Monica and Monique Jones and Willette Garrick of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Shanay Stover of Charlotte, North Carolina, Marcus Stover of Kershaw, South Carolina, Jeremy Fletcher of Blythewood, South Carolina, and Marcus Stover Jr of Camden, South Carolina; six great grandchildren, Jayden, Camren, Chantel, Tyriek, Chantel, and Charlee; one daughter-in-law, Lorisa Stover; four sisters, Willie Mae Newton (James), Lillie Benjamin, Della Peeples, and Geneva Williams (Thomas); sisters-in-law, Ivory Bradford (Albert), Sheba Stover and Lillie Jennings; brothers-in-law, Johnny Stover and Johnny F. Turner; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
