Leither Frazier Ligon

June 10, 1931 — June 12, 2024

Minister Leither Ligon was a woman of God for these times. Her life and works have added another page in the ledger of righteous living.

On June 10, 1931, Tinsley and Ida Frazier were blessed with their seventh child Leither Mae. Minister Ligon was divinely summoned from earthly toil to eternal rest on June 12, 2024, at the home of her daughter Pastor Patricia Brown. Her life span was 93 years.

Minister Leither Ligon was educated at Brewer High School, Greenwood SC. She was nurtured in a Christian home, where prayer was the main focus of the home. Because of her winning personality and devotion to God she helped many to give their life to God. Her home was a place where young people would come to receive guidance and inspiration on how to live for the Lord, but most of all to get a good ole country meal. Ohh how Minister Ligon loved to cook. People would call from all over and ask if she would cater their event. She was a member of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church for 67 years, where she was over the culinary department, a deaconess, and chairperson of the deacon board.

Minister Ligon was called into the ministry in 2000, her very first sermon was “The Right Connection”. Minister Ligon loved to preach the word of God. Many days she would sit at her kitchen table, with her notepad writing sermons as the Lord gave her inspiration.

None of us will fully know the countless years of hard work, and deep personal sacrifices she made to help others. Our lives have been forever changed because we lived in the presence of one of God’s precious gifts. And for that we say THANK YOU LORD!

She was preceded in death by her parents Tinsley and Ida Frazier, her husband Lewis Ligon, eight siblings, Margaret, Bettie, Emma, Jessie, R.B., Isaac, Howard, Rufus.

She leaves to cherish her legacy three children, Pastor Patricia Brown (Ronald) of Columbia, SC, Eric Ligon (Yvette) of Bronx NY, and Derrick Ligon of Brooklyn NY; six grandchildren, Ronald Jr, Darryl, Jason (Tammy), Micah, Alexis, and Zhane; 17 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; two sisters, Doris Abrams of Abbeville, SC and Rebecca Kennedy of Greenwood, SC. A host of god children too numerous to name, and a host of nieces and nephews who all loved Aunt Leither.
