MR. JAMES ALFRED "FOOT” JACKSON, son of the late Mildred Jackson Carlos and Grannison Warren, Jr, He was born on September 7, 1959, and entered into enteral joy on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Foot was born in Camden, South Carolina where he was raised by his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Jeanie Jackson after the untimely passing of his mother, Mildred Carlos.
At an early age Foot had a love for horses and touched the lives of everyone that he met. He had an ability to make you laugh no matter what you were going through. He was one of the most selfless people in the world, He would give his last and do it cheerfully.
In 1979, his love for horses led him to the Atlantic City Racetrack in New Jersey where he met and fell in love with Kathy Ward. Foot was a father to Kathy’s two daughters, Barbara and Angela, raising them as his own. They settled down in Long Branch, New Jersey where he fathered two daughters, Draya Lynn Jackson and Dana Latoya Jackson.
He returned back to South Carolina where he went back to work at the racetrack. He worked with the horses that he loved, until he retired. In 2020 he rekindled his friendship and relationship with his high school sweetheart Theresa Mitchell, who remained by his side until the end.
He is predeceased by his mother, Mildred Carlos; his father, Grannison Warren Jr; grandmother, Jeanie Carlos Jackson; two uncles, Edward Jackson Jr; and Roosevelt Jackson; an aunt, Clara Jackson Edwards; and two nephew, Kyle Johnson and Ja’Mari Kyle Johnson.
Foot leaves to cherish his life and celebrate his home-going, his loving daughters, Draya (Laquay) Jackson, Dana L. Jackson, Barbara (Perry) Galan, Angela Galan (Brian) Jenoriki; five sisters, a loving and devoted sister, Doris Jean Carlos Johnson, Jackie (Thomas) Davis, Paula (Troy) Radden, Martha Bellamy, and Antoinette Warren; four brothers, Thoyd (Kim) Warren, Tyrone (Alvita) Alexander, Michael Warren and Larry Workman; grandchildren, Marshall Carter V, Louis Galan, Arianna Burgos (Pablo) Tavarez, Mikayla Burgos, Sierra Allen (Kyle) Smith, Tyandra Allen and Kennedy Whealton-Camacho, two aunts, Maggie Davis and Janie Mitchell; nieces, Mildreda Davis and Cierra Davis; nephew, B.J. Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
