Grover Lee "Monk" Jackson

Grover Lee “Monk” Jackson, 75, humbly bowed to God’s will and entered eternal rest on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Sumter East Rehabilitation in Sumter, SC.  The son of the late Robert Lee and the late Janie Mae Moore Jackson, he was born July 2, 1950, in Kershaw, South Carolina.  He attended Jackson High School and Barron Dekalb High School.
  
He was converted at an early age and joined Flat Rock Baptist Church, where he continued to worship until poor health required him to relocate to the Sumter area.   

Left to mourn his passing are four sisters, Joe Ann Salters  (Roscoe) of Arnold, MD; Almeta "Meta" Jackson of Duluth, GA; Dorothy  "Dot" Sullivan of Rock Hill, SC, and Barbara  Robinson (Marvin) of Rock Hill, SC; one brother: Alve Jackson (Linda) of Greenville, SC;  two Aunts, Elizabeth Pinchback and Catherine Jackson; two sisters-in-law, Contenia E. Smith Jackson and Betty Jackson; fifteen nieces and nephews; a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
 
He was preceded in death by brothers, Willie Lee “Sam” Jackson and Adolphus James “Bo” Jackson; and his nephew, Cory M Sullivan.
