On Friday, August 15, 2025, Cheryl Ann Harris slipped away into the gates of Heaven. She was born on April 15, 1958, in Columbia, SC to the late Boyd Harris and Bertha Johnson Harris. A very proud 1976 graduate from Lugoff-Elgin High School in Lugoff, SC. She received Christ at an early age and joined Sutton Branch Baptist Church in Lugoff, SC. Cheryl retired from AT&T after 30 years and was also employed for a brief period by Marshall’s, Boys and Girls Club and BlueCross BlueShield all of Columbia, SC.
Cheryl enjoyed reading, watching her cowboy shows, crossword puzzles, playing cards, cooking and baking. But her one true love was shopping and dressing others. Any given day you could find Cheryl at her favorite store, Ross.
Although she loved all of her siblings, she was especially close to Boyd aka “Shake”, making sure he had a hot meal every day. Even on days when she did not feel well enough to cook.
Now she has found the ultimate state of happiness inside of our Heavenly Father’s House.
Cheryl leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted son, Brandon (Mia) Hillian of Columbia, SC; two granddaughters, Jayla Hillian and Skye Craig, who she adored; four sisters, Sylvia H. Wright of Richmond, VA, Nancy H. Lenix of Columbia, SC, Martha M. (Ronald) Firetag and Regina Motley of Camden, SC; three brothers, Willie Harris of Hersey, PA, Boyd (Parolyn) Harris of Elgin, SC., and Theodore (Lisa) Motley Jr. of Camden, SC; one additional sister in-law, Ms. Jeoline Bentley of Richmond, VA; two truly loving and devoted friends, Bobbie L. Arthur and Brenda White; and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, and other close friends who extremely miss her already.
In addition to her parents, biological father, Theodore Motley Sr.; and three brothers, Thomas Harris, Ned Lyles and Michael Roxwell Green preceded Cheryl in death.
