Charlene Caston was born on September 29, 1946, to the late Andrew Williams and Jennie Williams in Brooklyn, New York.
Charlene attended and graduated from the New York City public school system receiving her high school diploma. In 1985 Charlene became a School Crossing Guard working for 1 Police Plaza protecting the safety of children. This was a job that she loved and held for 15 years. Those that knew Charlene knew that she was a vibrant, courageous, caring loving woman. She was an amazing cook! That was a trait that she passed down to her children. She loved her children and grandchildren with her whole heart. Her children and grandchildren got the best version of her. Her laughter and her smile were infectious; no matter what type of day that you were having, she made it better.
On April 18, 2026, at 5:38 AM at MUSC KershawHealth Medical Center in Camden, South Carolina, God called her home at the age of 79.
Charlene leaves behind her seven daughters, Juanita, Odetta, Daphney, Yolanda, Regina, Kim, and Nedia; two bonus daughters, Michelle and Betty; her sister, Desiree Gonzalez; brother in-law, Alfonso Gonzalez; 29 grandchildren; 59 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; five sons in-law, Tony, Donald, Marvin, Noel, and Jermont; seven nieces; seven nephews; a host of cousins and friends. Her legacy will live on forever through her family. You lived a great life filled with love and happiness and laughter; you will forever live in our hearts and memories. Fly high our beautiful angel.
