Carrie Lee Spann Belton was the daughter of the late James and Callie Clyburn Spann. God brought this special person into the world on June 23, 1924. God gracefully took her on May 20, 2021. She was married to Joseph Art Belton Sr.
Carrie Lee attended Jackson School in Camden, South Carolina. She joined Parker Baptist Church in her youth. Later, she joined Hyco Missonary Baptist Church and was a faithful member for many years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing by hand, caring for her children & grandchildren, and spending time with her family and friends. She was employed at Camden Planter Mill in Camden, SC. Carrie Lee also did domestic housework and was employed as a housekeeper.
She was proceeded in death by her mother and father, James and Callie C. Spann; six siblings; her two children, Ruby Nell Rogers and Jerry Thedore Belton; and her granddaughter, Lynette Rogers.
Carrie Lee Belton leaves behind to cherish her memories, two sisters; Blanche S. Jones and Mary Spann of Atlantic City, New Jersey; six daughters, Mamie Grant of Long Island, New York, Caroline Belton of Columbia, SC, Mary L.(Howard) Thomas, Ceaser Ann Hubbard of Cassatt, SC, Christine Belton of Columbia SC, and Bonita G. Phifer of Charlotte, NC; four sons, James R. (Lelia) Belton and Roy L. (Deatra) Belton of Cassatt, SC, Joseph Belton of Columbia, SC, and Alvin J. (Althea) Belton of Camden, SC; a special Granddaughter, Kendra Belton of the home; 38 Grandchildren; 50 Great-Grandchildren; 16 Great-Great-Grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church members and friends.
