Shirley Carolina (Carolina) Rogers
October 29, 1938 — March 18, 2019
Shirley Carolina Rogers, 80, of Lugoff, SC passed away on March 18th, 2019. She was one of seven children born to the late Peter Carolina and Linda Kelly Carolina on October 29, 1938.
She was reared in Lugoff, South Carolina and received her early religious education at Smyrna United Methodist Church. Shirley attended school in Kershaw County and was a graduate of Jackson High School. She would move to New York following high school where she met the love of her life, Tony Rogers. Shirley and Tony had one child, Cheryl Rogers Smith. She was employed with the United States Postal Service. In her later years, she would move back home to Lugoff, South Carolina. She will be remembered as a caring, warm and loving person. She never complained.
Those left to cherish her memory include, her sister in law, Hattie Carolina; son in law, Oscar Smith; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by all of her siblings; her beloved husband, Tony Rogers; and her daughter, Cheryl Rogers Smith.
