SGT Michael O. Pellegrino

SGT Michael Orazio Pellegrino was born on 2 April 1991 in Phoenix, Arizona. After his 2009 graduation from Lugoff-Elgin High School, he enlisted in the United States Army on 10 February 2010. He attended Initial Entry Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. While there, he was trained and qualified as a Motor Transport Operator. His first duty assignment was with the 66th Transportation Company 39th Transportation Battalion, 16th Sustainment Brigade, Kaiserslautern Germany, as a Heavy Vehicle Driver. SGT Pellegrino deployed with the 66th Transportation Company to Afghanistan from October 2012 to July 2013. His second duty assignment was in Alpha Company, 203rd Brigade Support Battalion, 3rd Armor Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort Benning Georgia as a Heavy Vehicle Driver. His current duty assignment is with 2nd Transportation Company, 1916th Support Battalion, 916th Support Brigade, Fort Irwin, CA as a Heavy Equipment Transport (HET) Vehicle Operator. SGT Pellegrino a graduate of the Basic Leaders Course (BLC), the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) Course, the Forklift Operator Course, and the Combat Life Saver Course. SGT Pellegrino's awards include the Army Achievement Medal (1 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (2 Awards), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and Driver and Mechanic Badge. He is survived by his mother, Ms. Bernice Clark; his father, Mr. Martin R. Pellegrino; his brother, Mr. Joseph Pellegrino; his maternal grandparents, Mr. Gordon Clark, Sr. and Mrs. Theresa Clark; his paternal grandparents, Mr. Orazio 'Harry' Pellegrino and Mrs. Dorothy Pellegrino; his aunt, Ms. Kathy Pellegrino; his uncles, Mr. Gordon Clark, Jr. and Mr. Thomas Pellegrino; his cousins, Ms. Helena Clark, Mr. Gordon Donnell Clark, Ms. Lisa Pellegrino, Ms. Donna Pelegrino, Mr. Michael Pellegrino, host of relatives, friends and military buddies to cherish his memories, remember his laughter and friendship.
