Minister Clarence E Thomas

Minister Clarence Edward Thomas, "Sabu" a native of Camden, South Carolina and a resident of Elgin, South Carolina entered into rest on May 21st, 2019. Clarence was born on December 31st, 1954 to the late James and Edna Thomas of Camden, South Carolina. He was the sixth of seven children and among his siblings, he was the one who would make his presence known with his love for family.Clarence was educated in the Stamford, Connecticut public school system and completed his education in Camden, South Carolina. Clarence would go on to serve his country in the United States Army. While in the military, he completed further studies in Fort Hood, Texas. He would later study at Rice Community College. Clarence loved the word of God. He would later serve and become a licensed minister at New Hope Deliverance Ministries.Clarence traveled the world as a truck driver where he spent lots of time just enjoying the beautiful nature of God's creation. Clarence passion was making the world a better place to live. He loved people and often spread the word of God wherever he went around the world.Clarence had a heart of gold. He would give you his last. Clarence always wanted the best for every person God blessed him to meet in life. His love for God and his caring heart was always present.Minister Thomas was a preaching machine. He was passionate about sharing the word of God. In his early walk, he hosted a radio ministry broadcast on Saturday mornings called, "I Have a Testimony." This was evident in the life Clarence lived. As he battled health conditions, he continued to find ways to minister and encourage others. While a patient at South Carolina Oncology Associates (SCOA), he would minister to others and will always be remembered by the staff as a God fearing man that always had a word of encouragement. Clarence battled a long and complicated illness but never complained and continued to put his trust in the Lord to the very end. He was an example of long suffering. For this, we celebrate his life and are thankful that his light will live on in the people who knew and loved him.He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jacqueline (Alfred) Alexander.Those left to celebrate Clarence's life and cherish his memory include his loving and devoted wife, Greeba Dale Thomas; adopted daughter, Christine Sikes; adopted grandchildren, ZaNiya Butler "Piggy", Emoni Sikes "Boss Baby", and Kayla Sikes "Smooshy"; four brothers, James Thomas (Dorothy) of Ashburn, VA, Ralph Thomas (Miriam) of Camden, SC, Charles Thomas (Cynthia) of New Jersey and Shannon Thomas of Stamford, CT; sister, Gloria Polite (Allen); a niece whom he adopted as a daughter, Brenda Hinton; a nephew whom he adopted as a son, Charles "Chuck" Thomas, Jr; sister-in-law, Claudette Outen; brother-in-law, Clayton Outen, Jr; a host of nieces, nephews, New Hope Deliverance Church Ministry Family, other family members and friends.
