Mary A. Jones

Our beloved mother Mrs. Mary Ann Alexander Jones was born on 11 of July 1941 to the late Landy Alexander, Sr. and Annie Robinson Alexander of Camden, SC. She entered into eternal rest on the 15 of January 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Mary Ann Jones received Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Paul United Methodist Church and became a member of the church. Mrs. Jones was a graduate of Jackson High School Class of 1960. Following her graduation, Mary Ann Alexander married Johnny Jones, III on the 9 of July 1963 and they relocated to the north residing in New Jersey and New York during their 53 years of marriage. As a husband, he loved her and provided for her from the first day of their union until our heavenly father peacefully called her to an everlasting home of eternal rest. Mary Ann Jones was a faithful mother who worked as a skilled machine operator until her retirement in 1995. She enjoyed card games with her sister-in-laws. Special times spent with Lucille Allen and with her bingo partner Mary Ella Ashley. Also found memories with the Dawkins Family of Newark, NJ and the apple of her eye Tamara Dawkins-White. Mary loved life and shared her humorous wisdom, infectious laugh and loved her children and family with all her heart. Mary was preceded in death by her only son, Troy Eugene Jones; five sisters, Edna Cantey, Ilene Brown, Aletha Alexander, Polly Brown and Beulah Wilson; four brothers, Richard Alexander, Willie Alexander, Landy Alexander, Jr., Pinckey Alexander and Henry Chestnut. Mary Ann leaves a legacy of love and survived by her husband Johnny Jones, III; two daughters, Mrs. Torey (Johnny) Powell of Pottstown, PA and Mrs. Towanda (Brian) Jones-Bussey of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren, Shamirah (Kiel) Flagg of Roselle, NJ, Tamir Jones of Asheville, NC, Amani Powell of Pottstown, PA, Brian Bussey, Jr. of Charlotte, NC and one great granddaughter, Kaylee Ava Flagg; one sister Lula Alexander of Camden, SC; six sister-in-laws, Rosa Lee, Rachel, Mary Ella, Sue, Lucille and Rita; two brother-in-laws, Arthur and Sam; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends who will greatly miss her presence.
