Leon Isaac Moses

Mr. Leon Isaac Moses departed this life on Thursday, July 21, 2016 in Camden, South Carolina.  Born, May 17, 1978 in Camden he was a son of the late Mrs. Elizabeth Moses, the late Mr. Alex J. Belton, Jr. and the late Mr. Carl Moses.  He attended church and accepted Christ at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Camden, South Carolina, where he was baptized and served faithfully.  He also fellowshipped at Sanders Creek Baptist Church in Camden under the leadership of Rev. Dr. P.L. Griffin. Leon was a graduate of A.C. Flora High School in Columbia, South Carolina. After graduation, he entered into the United States Army and served honorably until his medical retirement, September 2011. As a decorated Service Member, Leon received several citations to include: The Army Commendation Medal (2nd Award), Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal (2nd Award), the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal w/Campaign Star, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd Award) and Combat Action Badge.  He was known for his loving and giving heart toward everyone, especially children. If you ever saw Leon, you saw a child somewhere around. Family, friends and keeping a smile on everyone's face was the highlight of his day and in which he is sure to be remembered for many years to come.    Those left to cherish his memories are his son, Mr. Justice Moses of Newark, New Jersey; foster parents, Mr. & Mrs. Berry Brown, III of Elgin, South Carolina and Mr. and Mrs. White of Lugoff, South Carolina; several siblings, a devoted and cherished sister, Janet Kiser of the home, Alex Belton, Audrey Lyles Majorie Belton, Mary Vanderhost, Javon Curtis, Queen Halley, Vanetta Johnson, Thomasina Edwards and Wayne DuBose all of Camden, South Carolina; two foster brothers, Kelyan C. Brown and Berry Brown, Jr.; a special and loving aunt, Lauretta Belton of Camden, South Carolina; his oldest maternal aunt, Lillie Mae Lane of Camden, South Carolina; special friends, Sholanda Belton, Arthur L. Lynard, Jr., Antonio Drakeford; a best friend who preceded him in death, Monty Demary and a mass of cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.         In Appreciation
