Kris (Davis) Robertson

September 11, 1966 — September 12, 2016

Born to Annie Lee and Edward C. Davis, Jr., on September 11, 1966, this precious baby girl, Kris, was God’s special gift to the Davis Family and was adored by all. Bold and fearless, she fought with valor to remain here with us but when her body wore out, her spirit grew stronger and departed this life at the Lexington Medical Center on September 12, 2016, one day after celebrating her 50th birthday surrounded by the love of her family and friends. God elected to transition her from her earthly home to an eternal home beyond the sky. At 4:30 in the A.M, she just flew away. Kris was a very precocious child and always had an inquisitive spirit. She matriculated in the Kershaw County Public Schools where she was an honor student and was involved in chorus, cheerleading, and student government. She graduated from Camden High in 1984 and attended South Carolina State University, Orangeburg SC, where she studied Business Management. She worked as an account representative at Orders Distributors in Greenville, SC, a teller at Bank of America in Camden SC and almost 17 years in a job she loved as an analyst at Verizon Wireless in Elgin, SC. She was most recently enrolled in Strayer University to finally complete the degree she started years ago. Kris inquired of her mother at the age of 4, “Mama, can I join the church now?” While she could not join that day, she was finally confirmed at Wesley Chapel UMC when she became a youth and worked diligently there in several capacities, among which, Youth Director, Recording Secretary, Choir Director of the Inspirational Choir, PPRC member, and Finance Committee. She loved Good Hope Wesley Chapel and remained a faithful member until her recent bout with cancer but still made packages of love from her home to give to the children on special holidays and sent her tithes faithfully.
