Kenyatta Monique Barnes Knott born to Vivian E. and the late Casper Barnes in Mount Vernon, New York on May 30, 1974.

Kenyatta graduated from Mount Vernon High School and furthered her education at Sullivan Community and Old Westbury College, Westbury, NY.

Kenyatta joined the Calvary Baptist Church, White Plains, New York at an early age under the leadership of Pastor Lester Cousin. She sang in the Children Choir, Youth Ensemble and Inspirational Choir before getting married to James Knott and moving to New Jersey. After moving to New Jersey and Georgia she had her children

She leaves to mourn her transition, her husband, James Knott, four children: Daquan Barnes, Jadden Knott, Ja’Nia Knott and Jacere Knott, her devoted mother, Vivian E. Barnes, a faithful brother, Casper Barnes; several aunts: Nettie McClendon, Barbara Melton, Alberta Bennett, Pearl Bennett, Carolynn Houston and Linda Bennett; two uncles; James A. Bennett and Deacon O. Michael (Odessa) Bennett and her mother-in-law, Mrs. Edith Knott, host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and wonderful cousins and friends.

Rest Easy Kenyatta, we love you but God loves you best.
