    Johnnie "Jay" Loynes

    June 25, 1942 - November 5, 2020

    Johnnie "Jay" Loynes departed this earthly life of November 5th, 2020. He was reared in a loving home by his parents the late George Loynes Sr. and the late Sallie Bell Stover Loynes. He was born on June 25th, 1942. He was the third child of seven children. He was educated in the public schools of Kershaw county. At an early age he left his hometown of Camden SC in search of a better life and ended up in Paterson, NJ where he met and married Florence Demarest. To this union two children were born Diane and John Loynes. Johnnie worked in logistics and as a bus driver before he returned to South Carolina in 1987 wherein he became a truck owner and operator until his retirement. He loved bowling and was part of bowling league with his sister Ruth Ann and his brother in-law. His other hobbies included fishing and playing cards. He had a robust sense of humor and could turn and bad situation around with jokes and laughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother George "Bo" Loynes Jr. and his sister Amelia Loynes. He leaves to cherish his memories his daughter, Diane Harris of Waxhaw, NC; Son, John F. Loynes of Bellville, NJ; brother, David Loynes (Gussie) of Camden, SC; three sisters, Daisy Loynes of Buffalo, NY, Ruth Ann Ladson and Hattie Loynes of Camden, SC; three grandchildren, Algia Rucker and Jamaire and Janay Pipkin; two great grandchildren; two aunts; two uncles and a host nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
