John Henry Jones

Mr. John Henry Jones, affectionately known as "Acie", was born in Kershaw County near Camden, South Carolina on March 12, 1937 to the late Mr. James "Jimmy" Jones and the late Mrs. Louise Jones. He entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 17th, 2018 in the Heartland Rehabilitation Center in Columbia, South Carolina.Acie received his education in the public schools of Kershaw County. He was reared in a religious home. He worked and owned his own business in pulpwood. He also worked as a Taxi cab driver for many years, landscaped, worked for DeRoyal Textile and Kershaw County Recycling Centers until his health declined. He also loved repairing and rebuilding lawnmowers.Acie loved dancing, singing, hunting, and playing his harmonica. He always had respect for the old and the young. He would always say "Thank You Ma'am" and "Thank You Sir" and "Yes Ma'am" and "Yes Sir". He's always willing to give a helping hand to anyone that needs or ask. He would never say "no".He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Jones; one sister, Miss Creasia Belle Jones; one brother, Mr. James Leroy Jones.Those left to cherish his memories are, three sons, Henry Lee Jones of Lancaster, South Carolina, Michael Bernard Jones and Richard Lewis Jones, both of Westville, South Carolina; three sisters, Zellia (Moses) Sumpter of Cassatt, South Carolina, Ruby M. Jones and Clara B. Jones of Camden, South Carolina; three brothers, McElveen (Rowena) Jones, McHeinard Jones of Camden, South Carolina and Albert Jones of Camden, South Carolina; Seven Grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a host of Nieces, Nephews, Relatives and Friends.The family wishes to express a special thanks and appreciation to Heartland Rehabilitation staff and Agape Hospice Staff.
