James E. Neal

December 25, 1945 — June 6, 2017

James E. Neal, the first of six children, was born to the union of the late Mr. Grover "Shane" Stover and the late Mrs. Idella Neal Brown on December 25, 1045, in Camden, South Carolina.  He was called to rest on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at McCoy Memorial Nursing Home in Bishopville, South Carolina. James accepted Jesus Christ at an early age at St. John Missionary Baptist Church.  He traveled extensively but upon his return, he reaffirmed his commitment to Jesus Christ and continued his Christian journey at St. Jon Missionary Baptist Church until his health declined. He attended the public schools of Kershaw County. In August, 1970, Mr. Neal was united in holy matrimony to his sweetheart, Delores McGee. From this union, one child was born, Melissa Neal. James was preceded in death by his sisters, Catherine Neal Sampson and Deloris Neal Drakeford. He leaves to cherish his precious memories:  his loving daughter, Melissa Neal of Kannapolis, North Carolina; grandchildren, Roddricus Neal and Darius Neal both of Kannapolis, North Carolina and Dominique (Desman) Brown of Concord, North Carolina; four great grands; two brothers, Kenneth (Faye) Neal of Loganville, Georgia and Charles (Margaret) Neal of Hephzibah, Georgia; one sister, Jacqueline Brown of Jessup, Maryland; three aunts, Mable Biggs of New York, Lizzie Jones and Allie Harris both of Camden, South Carolina; one uncle, Roosevelt Stover of Camden, South Carolina; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Sampson of Paterson, New Jersey and Paul Drakeford of Camden, South Carolina and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
