James McDaniel, Jr.

Mr. James McDaniel, Jr. entered into eternal life on Saturday, October 31, 2015, at his residence in Ridgeway, South Carolina.
James McDaniel was born in Rembert, South Carolina, to the late Mr. James McDaniel, Sr. and the late Mrs. Mattie Floyd McDaniel. At an early age, he attended Rafting Creek Baptist Church as well as Good Hope United Methodist Church. James graduated from Ebenezer High School in Sumter County.
Mr. McDaniel was joined in Holy Matrimony to Mrs. Christine Harris McDaniel for 44 years. He retired from his career in Management after 35 years of service with E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Company of Lugoff, South Carolina. James was an avid fisherman and loved to interact with people.
He helped maintain the security of the Nation during a critical time in its history. With devotion to duty and a spirit of sacrifice in keeping with the proud traditions of the military and serving in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, James received many awards; the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by one sister; Reverend Lottie Alston.
Those left to cherish his fond memories, grieve his passing, and celebrate his home going are his wife, Mrs. Christine McDaniel of Ridgeway, South Carolina; one son, Mr. James (Jeana) Johnson of Camden, South Carolina; two grand children; one sister, Mrs. Hazel McDaniel of Rembert, South Carolina; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Beverly (Johnnie) Gripper of Ridgeway, South Carolina; three brothers-in-law, Mr. John Harris, Mr. David (Charlene) Harris, and Mr. Jerome Harris all of Ridgeway, South Carolina; a dear special nephew, Mr. Nathan Harris of Phoenix, Arizona, along with other special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
