    January 21, 1936 - November 29, 2016

Glenn Phillip "Buck" Thompson, humbly bowed to God's will, then peacefully and quietly entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at his home in Camden, South Carolina. Buck was the son of the late Glenn Leroy and Willie Mae Brown Thompson, born January 21, 1936. He received his primary and early secondary education in the Kershaw County School District and completed his high school education in the United States Army. He also received certifications from the Kershaw County Vocational School in electronics, auto mechanics, refrigeration, and drafting. He joined Rock Springs United Methodist Church at an early age and remained dedicated to the support of the church throughout his life. Glenn could be counted on to support any task the church set out to accomplish. He was an United States Veteran serving his country for two years in the United States Army Corp of Engineers at Fort Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina and Fort Bragg, Fayetteville, North Carolina. He was the founder and co-owner of Thompson Logging, Incorporated where he employed hundreds of men from local communities over a 53 year period. He made a lasting impression upon his many friends and business associates. He found joy in helping others. He was united in marriage to Carol "Cealia"Jackson on May 21, 1960 and to this union two children, Phillip and Mechelle were born. Also, Mark Thompson (nephew) was like a second son who lived with Buck and Cealia from his elementary years through college.
