Gladys (Robinson) Pearson

MRS. GLADYS ROBINSON PEARSON, 87, of Sumter, SouthCarolina entered into rest on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at OpusPost-Acute Rehabilitation Center, West Columbia, SouthCarolina. She was born February 11, 1932 in Kershaw Countyto the late Hazel Robinson and Elizabeth Brown Robinson.Mrs. Pearson received her early education in the publicschools of Bishopville, South Carolina. She would meet andmarry the late Reverend Willie Arthur Pearson, Sr. To thisunion, eight children were born. Gladys was a dedicatedwife, mother and homemaker. She was a longtime memberof Elizabeth Baptist Church where she served as a SundaySchool teacher and sang on the Senior Choir. Gladys was alsoa member of the Canty Chapter 178, Order of Eastern Stars(O.E.S.).She was preceded in death by her parents, her belovedhusband, Reverend Willie Arthur Pearson, Sr.; a son, WillieA. Pearson, Jr.; two brothers and six sisters.Those left to cherish her memory include: her children – PollyBrown of West Columbia, South Carolina, Laura (Anthony)Gillie, Sammie (Deborah) Pearson, Terry Brunson and SheilaSmalls, all of Columbia, South Carolina, Corey (Amanda)Pearson of Charlotte, North Carolina and Jeffrey (Jackie)Pearson also of Columbia, South Carolina; twenty-threegrandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; a sister –Alberta Simon of Washington, D.C.; a host of other relativesand many sorrowing friends who will miss her dearly.
