Ella Louise Davis

February 1, 1932 — June 10, 2021

Ella Louise Allen Davis, 89, was born in Boykin, South Carolina on February, 1, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Abraham and Jannie Taylor Allen. She entered into eternal rest on June 10, 2021.

Ella attended Kershaw County public schools as well as Boylan Haven Mather Academy in Camden, South Carolina. She graduated in the year 1951. Ella was married to the late SSgt Herbert Davis. She had the opportunity to travel with her husband for 27 years. They traveled extensively throughout different states and countries. Ella's first time traveling, she had to make the journey by herself with two children in 1955. The trip was by ship and it was an ordeal that took two weeks. When her husband retired in 1978, he was awarded a certificate for his service and the Department of the Army honored Ella with a certificate of her own for being an unselfish, faithful, devoted and supportive army wife. Later in life, she enjoyed participating with the Vitality Center with Kershaw County Council on Aging.

Ella was a faithful member of St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church. She always enjoyed praising our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a member of the senior choir, missionary ministry, past President of the Pastor's Aide ministry, and a faithful attendee of Bible study. She always enjoyed the teachings of the bible, taught by Pastor Bennett, Pastor Dyers and Pastor N. Greene.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, SSgt Herbert Davis; son, Bernard Davis; sisters, Sadie Williams and Mary Allen; brothers, Willie Allen, Lindsay Allen, Julius Allen, Abraham Allen and Steve Allen.

Those who remain to honor her memory include her daughters, Carolyn Abercrumbie and Clemi Winestock of Camden, South Carolina and Claudette (Charles) Clyburn of Sumter, South Carolina; sons, Herbert Derrick (Johnnie) Davis of Eastover, South Carolina and Herman "German" L.
