He was born in Kershaw County, April 20, 1956 to Charlie and Annie Wood, Sr. He was educated in the public schools of Kershaw County.
Those left to cherish his fond memories, grieve his passing and celebrate his homegoing are his six children, Demetria Wood, Xavier Wood, Susan Belton, and Rhonda Belton of Camden, SC, Tiffany (Chris) Sumpter of Sumter, SC and Jennifer (Jermaine) Blyther of Washington, DC; five siblings, Berdine Thompson of Lugoff, SC, Tyrone (Ruthie) Wood of Elgin, SC, Angel Wood of Cassatt, SC, Harvey Wood, and Paul Wood of Camden, SC; In-laws, Betty Belton of Indian Trail, NC, Thelma (Leroy) Smalls of Camden, SC, Jimmy (Mary) Belton of Mt. Vernon, New York, Allene Kirkland of New Rochelle, NY, and Bertha Belton of Grand Forks, ND; twelve grandchildren; one great-granddaughter, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Charlie was preceded in death by his wife Oretta Wood; parents, Charlie and Annie Wood, Sr.; grandson, Ro’Sheed Goodwin; and great-granddaughter, Kamiya Wood.
